As most people are well aware of the Spring of 2022 was a cold and wet spring.

Because of this we were delayed twice in the ability to get out and open the trails up, on May 10th we still had piles of snow on sheltered area of our trails sections, but after that it went fast. We had all our equipment prepped and ready to go that evening and began with running all sections of our 39 trail and 24 miles of MMR & forest Roads.

Our Stage 2: plan for the 5.5 mile section [I] of the East Steamboat ATV Trail was complete over a seven day period. We got in place all new signage for this section going thru a large logging area that was completed. Also, sections of that trail that had not been reconditioned over the past 4-5 years finally got finished all that is needed , until mother nature and useage elements require more work.

We have submitted our FY-2023 GIA trails grant to address our predicted future needs for maintaining excellent trails.

You’ll see us out in April prepping for another season of great riding. We have major work scheduled on our north sections of trail to begin with, then general maintenance to the rest of the system as funding allows. We normally only get 70-75% of our requested funding from the DNR, so we will be setting priorities as to projects.

We hope all have a good New Year, and hope to see and talk to you on the trails!

Update 6/1: As of this writing we have yet to hear anything. Inquiries are out to DNR Staff.
